I’m an Englishman who’s been living in Romania now since Aug 2018, moving here using the then available FOM.
Within a month I’d got my CNP, within 6 months I’d found a job (I live purely on Romanian wages) and got my UK car RHD car registered with Romanian Plates. These option are no longer available with the ease to which I did them because of #Brexit, however those aren’t the reasons I’m writing here today, but just to give a small intro as to my background.

Last Friday 02/09/22, vineri, I went to work as usual, morning shift 05:30-15:00 woke up with a slight sore throat, didn’t think much of it, but it got worse through the day. By the time I’d got home it felt like someone had put sandpaper down my throat. I thought OK heavy cold, vitamin c, ibuprofen and that should do the trick, can’t be Covid as I’m triple vaxed; however I’ve till got those tests work gave me during the pandemic, so may as well just check.

OH BUGGER,
Did another one just to confirm.
Now here things changed from what I was used to in the UK,
Firstly my other half messaged our GP with the pics (in early evening) who confirmed they showed positive result, next she said we needed to call the Ambulance service (112) who would come out and confirm. Within 40 after my partner calling them they were here to check and confirmed after a further test that I was Covid Positive, my partner asked if she needed a test, but was informed that as she had no symptoms there was no need but that I was to Isolate in our apartment for 5 days.

Next morning, after a sweaty night, I awoke to this text on my phone, confirming my test and my isolation period. another text followed the next day and a further call to confirm today.

I am truly impressed by the service of the healthcare in Romania, sure the buildings here may be not as fancy as in the UK, but the availability and the quality of what I have found here so far is extremely impressive. Romanians should be truly proud of their Health Service IMHO.
