General information
Applications for employment with the British Embassy Bucharest should be sent by e-mail in response to advertised vacancies only. Please refer to the guidance in our job advertisements.
We do not process unsolicited applications. Only those applying for a specific position and who are selected for interview will be contacted. No applications will be returned.
All applicants must have a high level of spoken and written English (unless stated otherwise) and for most positions an additional fluency in Romanian will be required. The Embassy will consider all applications and invite a selection of candidates for interview. All invited candidates can expect a competency-based interview conducted in English by a panel of embassy staff. During the interview, candidates will be asked about their work experience, career history and skills. Interviews may also include a short practical exercise testing specific skills required for each role.
Internships
The Embassy runs a paid internship programme which provides the graduates with valuable educational experience in a foreign affairs arena. Interns should be high-calibre University graduates with an interest in building up career experience in a field related to the Embassy’s activities and not the general job seeker. Please check the vacancies website below for current opportunities.
